What does BabyBumps do?
BabyBumps acts a concierge for surrogates throughout the surrogacy journey. We accept exceptional clients who wish to become surrogates for families in medical need. After medical, psychological, and social evaluations, we search for the best possible parent match for our clients while ensure top compensation and high mutual respect between parents and surrogates.
Who becomes a BabyBumps surrogate?
BabyBumps surrogates are extraordinary women—compassionate, grounded, and driven by a desire to create something lasting and meaningful.
At BabyBumps, we only accept a limited number of surrogates each year. That’s because we believe in quality over quantity—and in providing each woman we represent with the highest level of personal care, respect, and advocacy.
We search for exceptionalism in our clients, which can be represented in a number of ways. Typical attributes of BabyBumps surrogates include: What they all share is this:
Higher level degrees (PhD, MBA, etc.) or other attributes that make for an exceptional surrogacy client
Emotional maturity and stability
A commitment to doing something life-changing with dignity and intention
Are surrogates related to the baby?
No, never. Surrogates (technically “gestational carriers”) will never be related to the baby they carry. Parents will be the biologic parents to the embryo, or use donor gametes if needed.
How much are surrogates compensated?
BabyBumps requires surrogate compensations to be at least $100,000 or more. Our compensation requirements are significantly higher than industry standards, however, our clients are also exceptional candidates who easily command high compensations.
How are you different than an agency?
BabyBumps acts on behalf of our clients, surrogates. We do not limit surrogates to match with parents in our network, like an agency. Instead, we search through potential parent profiles at multiple agencies, and facilitate the best match based of values and respect. We are selective with both parents and surrogates, and only accept excellent candidates on both sides.
What kind of parents do you work with?
Only those who meet our highest standards: kind, emotionally ready, and financially prepared with medical need for surrogacy. We screen thoroughly and only introduce you to families who are truly a great match for you.
Parents must share BabyBumps values or appreciation and admiration for their surrogate. They must wish to facilitate a warm, respectful relationship with the woman carrying their child.
Can parents elect to have a surrogate without medical need?
No, BabyBumps only works with parents with medical need.
Do I have to pay anything to be a surrogate?
No. Every part of your journey is fully covered—including medical care, legal fees, travel, and more. You’re giving a gift, not footing the bill.
